Sound Like Something You Deal With?
You are not the only one who has put this off. A single appointment is often all it takes to start closing the gap for good.
What Waiting Really Costs
Teeth Begin to Drift
Neighboring teeth tilt into the open space, changing how your bite fits together.
Bone Starts to Shrink
The jawbone under the gap loses stimulation and gradually reduces in volume.
Treatment Grows More Involved
Shifted teeth often need alignment work before a bridge can fit properly.
Chewing Load Shifts Sideways
Overworking one side leads to wear, sensitivity, and jaw soreness.
Costs Add Up Later
Correcting alignment and bone changes costs more than replacing the tooth now.
Hiding Becomes a Habit
The instinct to cover your smile settles in and gets harder to unlearn.
Treating the gap sooner keeps your bridge simpler, faster, and more comfortable.
How a Dental Bridge Replaces Missing Teeth
A dental bridge is a fixed restoration that spans the space where one or more teeth used to be. It anchors to the healthy teeth on either side of the gap, or to implants, and carries replacement teeth in between. The anchor teeth are shaped slightly so crowns can sit over them, holding the whole piece securely in place. Once bonded, a bridge stays put. You clean it, chew with it, and care for it much like the teeth around it.
Because we design and mill dental bridges in Oregon City right at Revolution Dental Group, your restoration comes from a digital scan of your actual bite rather than a generic mold. Our in-house lab technicians finish each piece by hand, adjusting shade and translucence so it blends with the teeth beside it.

Still Not Sure Where You Stand?
What to Expect With Your Dental Bridge
Exam and Planning
You start with a full exam of the gap and the teeth around it. We use dental imaging to check the bone and roots supporting your anchor teeth, so nothing hidden affects the fit later. We talk through what we see, answer whatever comes up, and agree on a plan together before anything begins. You leave knowing exactly what happens next.
Preparing Your Teeth
The anchor teeth get numbed thoroughly first, then shaped by removing a thin layer of enamel so the crowns can seat flush against your gumline. Most patients feel light pressure and nothing more. If you tend to get anxious in the chair, nitrous oxide is available to keep you settled. This step creates the foundation your bridge bonds to.
Digital Scan and Design
Instead of impression trays and putty, a small handheld scanner captures your bite in about a minute. That scan becomes a three dimensional model our lab uses to design the bridge, matching the shape, size, and contour of the teeth on either side. You watch your new teeth take form on screen and give input on shade before anything is made.
Fitting Your New Bridge
Your bridge is milled from a solid block of ceramic in our lab, then hand finished for color and translucence. We test the fit, check how your teeth come together when you bite, and adjust until it feels right rather than close enough. Once bonded, you chew, speak, and smile with a complete arch the same day.
Ready to Close the Gap for Good?
Settling In After Your Dental Bridge
First 24 to 48 Hours
Mild sensitivity around the prepared teeth is common as the numbing wears off, and over the counter pain relief usually handles it. Stick with softer foods and lukewarm drinks for the first day. Most patients find the discomfort fades faster than they expected.
First Week
Your bite may feel slightly unfamiliar for a few days while your tongue and cheeks adapt to the new contours. Chewing normally returns quickly, and brushing plus flossing under the bridge becomes routine within a week. By the end of it, most patients stop thinking about the bridge at all.
